LNB upgrade ?

Hi, I have the M-2 FTA package with the Universal Linear LNB. What would I gain if I up-graded to the Invacom QPH-031 LNB ? Will my Mercury II then be able to receive Circular polorized signals ? Do I also need the Switch kit to combine both signals on the same RG6 lead in cable ?

you would gain the circular sats but you would loose the sats that you need universal lnb for not a great trade off because not that many circular channels in the clear. and yes you will need a disqec switch to run both signals in on one coax.

I see almost no difference in signal strength between the 0.3 dB Invacom and 0.4 dB that came with my M1 package.

Vitruvius will become famous soon enough
nasa

I had my setup working with the Invacom. There was one satellite, I think 118 that had some FTA channels in circular... and it had the Nasa station which I thought made the LNB worth getting.. I think lightning zapped it and the receiver, so I can't get the circular anymore. I think I saw someone mentioning sat 40.5 as having some good circular stations, but I didn't get mine going that far...

I agree, there isn't significant difference in the .3 noise versus the .4 noise.

Good luck...
