BSC621-2 question

Hello all. (first post) Here's my info then will pose the question.

Location: Latitude 32.373 Longitude 122.750
7.5' Mesh dish. H-H Ajak Motor
FOCAL DEPTH .39

Receiver: Model Fortec Mercury II
Last Updated Jul 16, 2007
W/W Version V1.5.3
H/W Version V1.00
Loader Version V1.00

Positioner: Moteck V-BOX II

LNBF: BSC621-2
------------------Now the question--------------------
Using Universal LNB(9750,10600) on the Mercury II and DiSEqC switch settings 1.0 LNB 1 for Cband. Getting Signal level of around 80-85% with Signal quality ranging from 37-55% depending on the satellite. No luck with
Ku band using same settings except changing the switch to LNB 2.
Need an expert to tell me what to try next.
Having come this far afraid to change anything on the dish/ LNBF without a
little guidance for fear of REALLY messing things up.
Posting a pic. Do I have the LNBF positioned right?.
(Sidenote: can anyone help identify the 7.5 mesh dish I'm using? Got it as a freebie complete with an Ajak H-H motor. Nice dish. Thanks for any suggestions.)

Hey Mack the dish is a Perfect-10 people that made that dish, an bet the Ajax mount is a 36 inch ring very nice motor drive.

Now need to try to peak up the LNB for focal lenght (FL= 33.75 inches for that dish) an then go over an repeak you're dish in, have that same lnb set up on a 7 1/2 footer here an you're c-band Q sud be alot higher mine runs in 80s & 90s for c-band, an 60s to 80s for ku-band. I also would try to hook the Ku lead from lnb direct to fta receiver on this setting up, just to make sure that you got good signal, an it is not a switching problem. an after you find a Ku signal start peaking on Ku-band an forget about c-band, an when you are done you're c-band will be their stronger than before you started.
Good luck

Thanks 1Captain. Will give it a go. After peaking the dish in what
settings for the BSC621-2 should I use on the Mercury II? The options
given are "LNB-10750, LNB-11250, Univ LNB(9750,10500), User defined LNB, & LNB-5150". Also, when going directly to the C or Ku band inputs on the
BSC621-2, which of these settings would be best. Sorry, but my brain is
fried at this point. I trust in this scenario the 'DiSEqC switch option' on the Mercury would be None, correct?

Perfect-10 dish huh? hope I can get this baby singing a perfect 10
Will post some results later today.

C-band > Standard-Freq> 5150
Ku-band > Universal-Freq> 9750/10600
These are the settings for a BSC-621-2, the -2 means that the Ku-band is a universal lnb an the receiver sud switch between high an low band its self with 22khz, just don't use a 22khz switch when using any type of universal lnb, because they won't switch beteen the 2 ku-bands.
Good Luck

Thumbs up

Went direct from Ku on the BSC621-2 to receiver, set the Mercury
to Univ LNB(9750,10600) and managed to get my first Ku satellite. Unfortunately it's scrambled but at least I'm on the right track!
Thanks for the pointers Captain.
