Help Prime Focus at 13N 59W

Hi All,
I have a big problem. I finally was able to get my 6ft dish into my country located at 13.2N 59.6W (Gov. restricts /requires a permit) but now I can't see a thing. I'm using a Fortecstar 6ft multi-panel prime focus with a BSC621 C / KU Band LNBF and a viewsat ultra box. I borrowed a 4ft offset to do some testing and was able to get 110 at a Q of about 30% with an AspenEagle DTV32+ LNB. I have tried varying the Focal length and even using AspenEagle LNB in the Prime focus but still nothing.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Orion.

I hate to state the obvious, but 110 is a circular satellite which you will not be able to recieve with your receiver.

The receiver can handle circular it is the lnb/lnbf that determines readability (is that a word?). More obvious would be location vs. beam. Of course there is nothing on 110 that a VS receiver can watch other than the congrats screen. If 110 is not what the OP actually wants then there is no reason to waste time pointing at it.

I show you off the coast of Venezula.

Thanks

Hey Thanks All,
You are correct, actually I'm on the Island of Barbados at 13|| 59W. I do not agree however that a Prime Focus cannot receive Circular, Like "elgemcdlf" suggested I think it has to do with the LMBF. I am looking into purchasing a OPH which has the capability of receiving both according to the write-up at Sadoun.

Thanks Again for the feeback.

BTW What is the easiest way of point one of these dished, I know the basics with AZ and EL but would purchasing a Signal meter Like a SatHawk make the troubleshooting any less painfull.

Regards,
Orion.

Yes it will recieve circular signals just fine, your lnb is the problem. With that size dish I would just offset a circular lnbf next to the lnb you have now to get the circular ones. I would check the signal footprint or EIRP of the satellite @ 110 degrees to see if your dish is large enough to get a useable signal at that location. From the EIRP maps I am seeing I do not think you will see 110 signal.

Ok, Thanks for the info.
I guess I'll have to upgrade or find a different Bird.

Orion.
