Question What Types of Antennas Are Covered Under the OTARD Rules?

What Types of Antennas Are Covered Under the OTARD Rules?
The following antennas or dishes are covered by these rules:
  • A "dish" antenna one meter (39.37 inches) or less in diameter (or any size dish if located in Alaska), designed to receive direct broadcast satellite service, including direct-to-home satellite service, or to receive or transmit fixed wireless signals via satellite.
  • An antenna that is one meter or less in diameter and is designed to receive video programming services via broadband radio service (wireless cable), or to receive or transmit fixed wireless signals other than via satellite.
  • An antenna that is designed to receive local television broadcast signals.

Can somebody explain me this?
Do they mean that my C band dish is illegal?
I'm a home owner.

Yes, C-Band dishes are bigger than the permitted limit. It is not illigal, but it would go against the HOA rules. Someone might complain about your dish to the HOA and they may request that you remove it. You have no choice but to remove it.

all it means is if the dish is under a meter you're protected. As noted above, you could put up a 12 foot dish but if they tell you to take it down you would have to.

I live in a HOA and have 2 6 foot dishes (being VP of the HOA has its benefits)

Talking Hoa

Understood.
Luckily there is no HOA in my neighborhood.

But if they ever make one I will convince all of them to buy C band dishes to make all houses look alike.

OTARD can also protect homeowners from the municipality as well as from associations.
