Tracking issues

I have an Orbitron S7 with "spinclination and a BSC621, a coolsat 6000 (not a clone), and V-box. I am in Lorain ohio at 41lat and 82 long. I get 87 w and 91 w perfectly but nothing else. I tried to line it up with 82 and 84 but from what I can tell from Lyngsat is these are not visible from the USA. I couldn't fin 79w either. So I started at 87 and found it no problem. The Orb manual says to set the elevation at 90 minus my lat which is 49 and the spinclination to 41. If I hunt around with the reciever and actuator I can get a few channels off 93w 95w and 97 but not all. I'm at my wits end here and am almost ready to spend the $200 for the man to come do it for me. Any suggestions I could try before spending anymore money on this thing? Thanks folks

Ok when you move to your western sat push up and pull down on the dish to see which way improves signal if it is up move the whole mount on the pole to the west then use the actuator to refind the signal continue doing this untill pushing up or down makes the signal worst.if it is down just reverse the direction on the pole.

Hi dgates: what info Rainman is right on for checking you're alinement of the dish. but if you're dish has been set up in the past, an has worked great back then, an you have not moved none of the adjustments it still sud be right on the arc, but things will rust out or the mounts may become louse due to age of it. an a real good way to find this out is drive the dish to where it is straight up in the air (like a bird bath) then go out to the lower edge of the dish an lift up, an pull to the right an left to see if you have any movement either way. an if their is try to fix it or tighten up the bolt or bolts. now in some cases if a dish was moved alot in the past, you're pivot points of the dish will get wore out an cause this type of problem. an if all is a-ok on dish being tight, then you will need to go over the alinement just like Rainman said. good luck dgates an hope you find the problem.

Ok so I got to it today. I kept bumping it to the east and must have it close as I have tracked so far from 72 over to 123. By using the info on lyngsat and another site I have so far found almost 200 channels with quality as low as 63 up 97. It still needs to be tweaked to get the best picture but now, hehe, I'm afraid to mess with it. Thanks for all the help folks.
