Dish Network Signals

I have dish 500 twin and cant get 119 w but can get 110w ,which I had a hell of atime getting in the past.110w I get on the scale about 105 and 119w the receiver tells me no locked but the scale states 100 ,but on wrong satellite.I ve tried for a few hrs. I only fix I can think of is a meter with id but dont have the 300.00 to buy.Any input?

on the dish network receiver, run check switch twice (menu 6,1,1 i think)
It has to come back recognising both lnbs. Then try again. If still no luck, look at the plastic y where the lnb attaches to the dish arm, find 110, and block the portion of the lnb above with a piece of alum. foil. Then find 119. 110 should be there when you get 119.

or reverse- block 119 and look for 110.

Larry thanks for reply.I ran test a few times and no 119.i covered 110 with foil and I have no signals. I changed the lnb and get same problem. I may be off 119 signal is it lower on the horizon then 110.or higher. if i got 110 and want 119 any guesses move east or west up or down.dish is not like directv .dish is such a small window in the northeast

OK, cover 110, and go into the pointing menu for the satellites. Pick 119, and sweep l/r and up/dn until you get lock. Another thing that is really important- use the menu and input your zip code, and adjust the dish 500 skew (on the back), lock it down, and don't mess with it again.

And the pole has to be plumb in all directions (use a level to check) for the skew to work.

I'll guess that the pole is not plumb. or the skew is wrong.

If you have 119 locked, and the skew/plumb thing is correct, then you should be getting 110 when you uncover it's lnb and run check switch again.
