Gbox help

I just received a Gbox V3000 and tried to hook it up to mu BUD. It moves the dish one click then gives an E-2 message. The instructions don't cover this. Help I have three wires coming from the switch on the dish. Red Black and green. The connected to the analog dish as B, Sensor and Ground. I assume I need to connect the senso and ground to the Gbox

The G-box V-3000 is a real nice peice, i like it alot, an it is alot nicer than the motecII that i have on another dish set up, so very nice buy Tha you wont be sorry at all when you get it going.

but now getting to your problem, the V-3000 is made to work with a reed switch an you dont have a reed switch. what you got is a optic sensor, an you will either try to rig up a powers supply to run it (5-volts dc is needed) an hope that it is good an working optic. or what i would do is replace it an put a reed in its place with a magnet wheel. that would be easyer an better cause had alot of problems with optic sensors tru out my time...

Thanks
Where can I get the reed switch or would it be better to replace the motor with a new one with the switch?

It would be cheeper to get a reed an it would help to get 1 for what ever model of actuator that you have, or i have adapted different styles reeds an magnet wheels tru the years, but if your actuator is in bad shape with a lot of play in it then replace it. an if you have a mess dish a lite duty will be fine but if you got a heavy fiber glass will need a good quality actuator to hold up.what model an size dish an actuator do you have?

Or make 5volts dc either with some batterys or a power supply if you got 1 laying around an test that optic sensor out to see if it works. an this is how B+ to +5volts, Ground to - side of 5volt supply an also to ground on v-3000, an sensor to sensor on v-3000. also if you got a multi meter sud have less than 15ohms from ground an sensor when actuator is moving, an if you got low ohms run it, but if the ohms are over 20 (at the optic sensor, not inside home cause will be reading wire also) the actuator wont count to the v-3000 well, going from sat to sat over time... good luck
