129.0W - Getting Echostar 5 but not Galaxy 27

How can two Sats be at the same location? I am only getting Echostar5 and no Galaxy27 frequencies. I'm checking my receiver settings. Any ideas?

I think I read somewhere they are actualy 50 miles apart. check and make sure you have the proper LO set as one is circular and the other is linear.

also make sure your disqec switch is switching and that you have the right port selected for the lnear side of your lnbf.

Would I need a disqec switch for one coax cable? My lnbf has one coax cable connection. Your response above makes it sound like I need two coax cables. So it's one coax and the Sat is set to 10.750 on the receiver which by my understanding is for linear. If Galaxy27 uses circular...then this could be the problem?

I thought you were using the Invacom qph-031 my mistake if you have only 1 line then it is a linear lnbf and G27 is linear the only channel on there is white springs try putting the Transponder freq and SR in manually and see if you get it.

Smile fixed

Okay...I had missing transponders and freqs. Once I added the one for White Springs I got it....as that is what I was looking for. Observation: it's fun finding new channels by adding freqs...kinda like fishin!! Just waitin for bites!

Cheers,
LB99

I agree, Kinda like fishing, sometimes you get a rather good bite on the line.

I was looking for WOUB (PBS Athens Ohio) and I thought that it was on the same sat as White Springs TV. I learned that it is on Echostar 5 at the same (129) Location so I moved my 18" DBS dish with the circular LNB to Echostar 5 and lo and behold, there it was!

I had installed a 22 kHz switch to add the 18" DBS dish into my receiver and now I can watch WOUB TV with an 18" Dish, and if I want to move it back to Echostar 7 @ 119 for the NASA Channel, I marked on the DBS dish with a Magic Marker the Location of the Echostar 7 so with a few wrench turns, I can move it over there.

Voila!

Bill
