Winegard DS-2076 (30") plate too big for Commdeck!

Argh!

The Winegard 2076 foot plate is way too big for the Commdeck. So-o annoying!

Can I mount the Winegard dish on some cheap mount that will fit? I believe the pipe size is a standard 1.66 inches.

Thanks. So frustrating.

what about the obvious answer of using a std dtv or dn base? Or redrilling holes in the base to match the comdeck?

Yes, that is the obvious answer Sorry, I'm a total noob.

I guess when I read that the Winegard had a universal mount and that the Commdeck supported a universal mount, I figured it'd obviously fit. Guess not!

No need to be sorry, my answer may not be the best anyway! I'm not familiar with the Winegard base so someone else that is familiar with both the comdeck and base may jump in with a better answer!

How large is the dish? Because I have found the Comdeck system isn't the best for anything much larger than typical dss dishes... I have a 30" Fortec on one and even with the additional support legs that came with the dish there is a bit of movement. The top cover to the comdeck just isn't that sturdy, especially the way it's connected to the base of the comdeck.

Wow! Still movement? I was hoping that the Commdeck would be sturdy. They do say it's rated for up to 36".

Is the AU9 bigger than a 30"? There are a couple of people who have mounted an AU9 without much issue:

Another Commdeck question? - DBSTalk.Com

Well, it's raining a ton ... I guess I'll give it a go next week.

The base is sturdy, but the top cover is just held on by 4 screws and that has a bit of flex to it... the support legs were a must using the larger dish.
