Receiver problem?

Hello, I got the motorized system, Fortec 80cm dish, Fortec Star Mercury II receiver, Universal LNB and HH motor. Initially I tried to install the motorized system, I followed the instructions posted at sadoun.com but got nothing. No signal, no quality. Then I tried to catch just one sat with no motor; In this case 123W, elevation (34.8°), azimuth (magn.: 238.3°) , etc. and nothing. Later I got a satellite finder, It got a strong sound and the needle went to top of the scale with no gain, so I assumed that I got the bird. And at the receiver I got 75% level but just 48% quality. I try to re-align several times but that was the maximum I could get. Proceeded to Power scan and got nine channels at a weird transponder 12032 V but all of them scrambled (nagravision). Repeated the procedure several times for this sat, and invariably I got same results. I am thinking that it could be problem with the receiver.

Have you made sure that your mast and dish mount are plumb?

sounds like you may be on echostar 9 at 121 west try moving the dish a little to the west.

Yes, Mount pole is plumb.

Even if I selected 123W TP 11270V in the receiver?

the receiver does not know what sat your dish is pointed at you have to find the sat first then sync it with the receiver.

I am hoping this is a typo and you meant 11720 because there is no 11270 on 123 or 121

Yes, I meant 11720V !

If you are on 121 you are moving just a hair to the west to get 123. It is also slightly different in respect to dish elevation. There is a 11724 on 121 which your receiver could be locking onto when you are set for 11720. In any case you are close.
