Does the Mercury II have a OTA tv tuner built in?

I see that my Mercury has a connection for an OTA coax and then outbound OTA coax. Why is that? Is there an OTA receiver built into the Mercury? If not, why does it have the connection?

I know... a very basic question... I'm a super newbie ... remember...

It's just a pass through connection.

kxdisp is on a distinguished road
The Merc II does not have a OTA tuner. When it is turned off, it will simply feed through whatever source you have connected, be it an antenna, cable, etc. In other words, the Merc has a switch just like a VCR.

what is the pass through's purpose?

Thanks. Now why do they even have the pass through? Since you say it has a switch like a VCR, then does the receiver signal also go through the coax? Which means that if you turn the TV to channel 3 or 4 like in a VCR you can get satellite signals on your TV? Otherwise, why would they include these on the receiver?

Thanks...

They have the pass through as most tv's (analog) have a single connection for input. Some have RCA and coax. If you could not connect all of your toys together with a single coax going to your tv you would be constantly unhooking and hooking up different coaxes to the tv. It is not "Ant out" it is "Ant in". Tv out is where the picture is passed to the TV. lnbf in is from your sat dish. So you 2 input sources and 3 outputs to choose from. Componet, RCA or coax.
