Newbie help needed

Im interested in setting up a satellite dish to pick up worldwide free to air in australia, but im not sure what equipment i need, how to set it up and what size and type of dish i need, i hear of people getting hundreds of channels? this would be more than ideal but im wondering if it is possible at all in australia?

I dcant see any tv station beaming to america from Australia.

I think he's saying that he lives in Australia, not in the US.

If so, he should go to Asia & South Pacific - LyngSat and check out the sats on that page. Select each sat, then click on the link in the beam column to see if the footprint covers Australia. If so, check out the various channels to see if they are FTA or encrypted.
