Help!

I hope you can help me...... I am in Southern California....I have a Coolsat4000 Pro, Stab HH90, Fortecstar FC80 dish. My latitude is 33.5N Longitude 117.3W So now, where do I begin?! We have been trying to set this up for days...If you could please just start from the very begining and give me direction on exactly what to do, your help will be greatly appreciated. I've gone to who knows how many different sites and just can't seem to get it. the posts that I have read in here, are EXACTLY what I've been searching for, Except I just need them with my precise calculations. Thanks so much!!!!

Ok, it is all set up but just one little problem......the signal is up at 85%, but the quality is still low. (anywhere from 0-25% is the highest) What do I do now?

It's recommended first to peak the dish on your south most satellite first, for you that would be SatMex5 at 116.8W. Use Usals to move your dish to that satellite. Then try to achieve best quality for transponders, which give you now 25%.
Can you already watch something from that sat, such as "ESNE", or "Almavision"?
When I come home, I will check which signal is the best for my location on that sat, and will let you know.
Make sure LNBf is all the way out as far from dish as possible and has a "0" skew. Mark your poll and motor bracket and dish bracket with some marker, if you lose your 25% quality, you will know how to return. It should be very fine adjustments, like a "hair" distance from what you have now. When you get the best quality on Satmex5, move to other sat, per instructions on Sadoun's site.
Good Luck!

I checked transponders, I have quality reading about the same - 55-60% on three of them: 12024 H 3000, 12028 H 3255, 12165 H 3935.
"Televida" at 12059 V is worse: shows just 15-30%.

I'm sorry, I am so lost when it comes to this stuff. I could hook up an entire stereo system in 10 min but I have no idea about this. lol
Well, I tried that sat like you said, and everything is the same. I have 85-89% signal now, but the quality is still 0-20 or 25. Its not just set on 25, its like scrambling back and forth, ya know? So when I try to put it an any channel, it still says no or bad signal. Am I making any sense to you? Because I have no idea!
By the way...thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it!!!

But at least, you are able to scan for channels, right? If scanning the sat brings some channel names, you can compare them with lyngsat and confirm you are aimed at the right satellite. Channel names may look weird though, for example, "ESNE" appears for me as "Default program" and BYU appears as "LatinAmericaBckup". So, if you see these two, you are on the right track, and you need to do a very minor adjustment.

don't worry about the signal you need to get the quality higher so use a small tv and your receiver at the dish and pull up or push down and see if you get better quality if so move the dish in the direction of the better quality. may also have to move dish east or west to get best quality reading. remember to make slow small movements also mark your starting point so you can return if need be.

Thanks so much, guys! Yes, we just took my daughters tv out of their room and put it in the garage so we can see it. We messed with it a little yesterday, but not much. We were gone all day today, and will be busy again tomorrow....so on Sunday I will get back with you to let you know how it goes! Thanks again!!!

This one does both Linear (FTA) and Circular (Dish music channels)

QPH-031 Invacom 0.3dB DBS and VSAT LNBs plus VSAT Ku Band Transmitters - BUCs, Receive Satellite TV, Quad CP LP 2-way Satellite communications

This one does Linear (FTA) only

SNH-031 Invacom 0.3dB DBS and VSAT LNBs plus VSAT Ku Band Transmitters - BUCs, Receive Satellite TV, 2-way Satellite communications

What do you have now that you consider the wong one?
