Help Installing Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra System

Hello,

1- Your location: Villa Park, IL 60181 (20 Miles from Chicago)
2- Receiver make and model: Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra Package
3- Dish size: 30 cm < i think (came with the receiver from sadoun)
4- LNBF type: Universal (Came with the receiver from sadoun)
5- Motor if any: None

I am trying to get it to point to the arabic channels (IA5 - 97W)

I have my azumith @ 40.8 and the elevation is at/or around 193.8 (My compass shows that)

The Quality on the receiver shows 0% and the level is around 40-50%

I cant get any reception

add 3 degrees to compensate for magnetic deviation.

so use 197 on your compass.

Twist your lnb to the "left" - needs skew (see picture) about 10 degrees.

Satellite Look Angles Satellite Heading Calculator Azimuth Elevation Skew Tilt LNBF Latitude and Longitude values

You need to have active transponder for IA5 selected.
Cycle thru the transponders and pick 12084 Vertical is a good one to use.

Then look for signal. Use a small tv out by the dish. Make sure cable is connected to LNB IN on the back of Ultra.
Be very slow and carefull looking for Quality indicator to blip up. The adjustment is very touchy. 1/8" movement of the dish will lose the signal.

Good luck
