Question about locals on T6, AMC 6, Anik E1??

I read an earlier post about Arizona locals on T6? anyone ever try to catch those?

Or how about on AMC6: I can catch the Telemundo station no problem, but as for FOX Beaumont, I have strong signal strengh/quality, but cannot lock the station. Lyngsat shows FOX in the clear--any ideas?

Lastly, SatDx shows a bunch of western US locals on Anik E1, but Lyngsat shows no such thing as Anik E1...am I just looking at outdated info?

Thanks, Mark.... If anyone else has seen some locals out there--please tell me...

Some receivers have problem with these 2 channels becuause they are very close to each other, only 3mhz diffences, same polarities.

Fox Beaumont and Telemundo on AMC6

Thanks for the advice.

If I prefer to watch Fox rathern than Telemundo...If I deleate Telemundo and then scan for Fox Beaumont...do you think that would help me lock it?

Then again, why am I asking this... I could just go try it...:-)

Yeah, it might work. Does your receiver allow to key pids manually? If so, try manual pids option.

Question on PIDs

Hi,

I am a complete novice as to setting PIDs. In lyngsat PIDs appear as 3/4, but in the lifetime receiver a PID is a 4 digit number 1000??

So.

1. How do I use the numbers in lyngsat to set the PID in Lifetime?

2. Do I have to set all three PIDs Video, Audio and That other one?

Thanks for your help, Mark

On each transponder, the first entry has a number besides the 3/4. Use that. As an example, G10R (123W) Transpoder 5 under the 1st entry of "Equity" it says 26660-3/4..you would input 26660

No..just the other one (26660) for example...some receivers allow you to enter manual video PIDs, so it is possible.

Setting PIDs

Thanks for the advice.

But for this TP on G10R, 26660 is the symbol rate is'nt it? For my Fortec LIfetime that is standard procedure for entering in any new frequency. I put in the Freq, H or V, and the symbol rate ie: 11799 V 26660.

On my receiver there is a special section where I can add audio, video and PCR?? PIDs. So, would I enter in the Symbol rate again for PCR?

FWIW, I am getting both channels with very high quality values in southern California.

Anyone know what's up with KWSU PBS on Echostar 1 (148W) ? "We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please stand by."
