No Ku
I have no Ku on my 6' dish... I am assuming that I must of blew out the DISCEqC switch on the lnb when I was playing earlier, but as long as I have been trying, it gets no ku,....
Here is what is happening. When I am on a C band bird, I have the DISEqC selection on the receiver set to 1.... Then I set it up for a new sat, I change the DISCEqC setting to 2, and the LNB type to 10750..
It finds what appears to be Ku TPs, but in actuality, they are the C band TPs renumbered... Then it scans in all the C band channels...
I guess when I was playing out there with the power trying to move the little dish I could of wiped out my 4 way switch plus the one on the LNB...
Any thoughts???

bypass the LNB switch, wire it direct to the ku port on the very end of the LNBF
See if it works.

Ok
OK, Getting real Ku now! Must be the switch.... (I guess I will get a new external switch as I doubt you can replace the one on the LNB)...
Strange though, the Ku signals aren't in the same place as their C band counterparts.. I have to jog the dish to get them (???????????)

yeah, my C band to Ku is a smidge from each other.
So one might be 93.0, other is 93.1
Something like that.
I read that the antenna for one or the other is a bit offset in the throat of the LNB, thats why.

Crappy
The signals are a bit crappy on the Ku side (Not even as good as I have on the 80 CM)..... I think this means I still have some alignment to do..
Maybe the best way to tweak a C band dish.... Align it to Ku..

seems as though the bigger dishes (4-6 foot) are much more fussy about Ku alignment than smaller ones (30 - 33 inch).
Someone on another thread here said beamwidths and bigger dishes IIRC.
When I went from Invacom on 80cm dish, to BSC621-2 on 120cm dish --- the Ku signals were about the same levels, even though I was using a bigger dish.

It is best to find the sat with c band and then fine tune with ku seems to give better quality that way even on c band.

This is the traditional thing to do. Ie, since the resolution on Ku is much smaller than on C-band, you can be aligned as good as you can get on C-band and still be off on Ku, but if you align on Ku you generally will be perfect on C-band.
HOWEVER, this is all assuming that your feedhorn is at the proper focal length. If not, the Ku can actually "appear" to focus at a different point from the C-band. So I *think* that perhaps the best way to do it is before attempting alignment, to find a sat via C-band, and without moving the dish, insure that the feedhorn is indeed at the right focal length by watching a Ku signal while varying the FL. After the FL is set, then by all means, do the alignment via Ku, because unless something is really wrong with your dish C-band will be perfect if aligned via Ku.

If you are using a BSC621-2, then L.O. 10750 is NOT correct for the Ku LNB.
For the Ku LNB on a BSC621-2, use Universal or L.O. 10600 and Low L.O. 9750. And for the C LNB, use L.O. 5150.
You can by-pass the diseqc switch on the BSC621-2, just get a separate diseqc switch, remove the jumper coax on the BSC621-2, connect the C-band LNB to LNB 1 on the separate diseqc switch, and the Ku LNB to LNB 2 on the separate diseqc switch.
Then on your receiver, use diseqc 1.0, LNB 1 for C, diseqc 1.0, LNB 2 for Ku.
Here are the instructions for the BSC621-2...

Thanks Bill, unfortunately mine is the BSC621 Standard.... Looks like I managed to damage the switch. I used it last night by bypassing the switch and got it to work with 10750. However, as mentioned, the signals were way down...
So my Saturday project will be to realign this thing on Ku band.......

Hi
I wonder if you noticed the http://www.sadoun.net/forums/install...eqc-22khz.html
thread???
Lumpkin666 pointed out that the 621 standard lnbf does NOT use DiseqC to switch to Ku, but instead uses 22khz!! The confusion was caused because the link on the Sadoun page to the 621 manual actually points to the 621-2 manual. I looked up the manual at http://www.dmsiusa.com/documents/621-manual.pdf
and it verifies what he says.
Ie if you're trying to use DiseqC port 2 to get Ku, then that won't work. Instead you need to turn on 22khz to get Ku.

OK, So let me see if I can figure this out...
I have the 621 plugged into my new DiseqC switch (Thanks Sadoun, REAL FAST Shipping!!!!!!!!!!) on connector #1. I have the Lnb on the 80cm dish (Uni) going into connector #2 (I have it locked onto G25 as I am not about to try the motor again!)....
So, to see Ku on the big dish, I need to set a sat for 10750, DiseqC #1, 22khz on... Is that right Bill???

Sounds about right to me providing you have the jumper in place.
