Need Suggestions on Installing Additional Satellite

Hi,

I have a TV box on external wall next to the garage, and there are two cables that connect to the internal TV box in master bedroom's closet, where all cables to each bed rooms are connected via the switch. One of the two cables is hooked for DishNetwork service. The other one is available. I want to also connect an additional satellite for Chinese TV that I have subscribed to, which I have not done the installation yet. The question that I have is that currently I watch DishNetwork programs in family room and if I connect another satellite, what do I need to do in order to watch both feeds from DishNetwork and the Satellite with Chinese programs? Please see attached.

Thanks,

Jay

You need to first verify your second port is sat capable and not an antenna port. If it is probably not a big deal but you will have to come out of the reeiver first prior to going through the "box" which I am assuming are some form of switch. If so the number on the switch would be very helpful It would be very helpful if we knew what the system was that you are using to sub to chinese programming and what your DN system is. Receiver, dish, and so on.

You only have one line going to the living room and it's used by Dishnetwork receiver. You'll need to run another line from the Media box to the living room to connect the Chinese Satellite. Dish network uses a switch either internal or external to switch between satellites. If you use another switch in the same line to combine both systems, you'll lose signal on one of the satellites. Best thing to do is to fish a line down to the living room for the other system.
