    Rolling the mast

Given the way a dish travels to follow the arc it appears to me that if I want to hit sats outside the motors normal range of travel when set at true south (peak of the arc) the easiest way to accomplish this would be to rotate the mast and use a different sat as the peak sat.

Example: My motor will not let me move past 30 degrees. I am at 87. If I want to hit 22 my thinking is roll the mount to the east. Would the angle I am looking for be equal to the amount I need to move? In other words the mast would be at a 8 degree slope on the east west axis. Move my peak of arc sat from 87.4 down to 79? Since skew is adjusted with a roll of the dish would this work?

Just an example I have no idea what is on 22 but do know my dish will not travel past 30

    TIA

Looking at your signature line I will guess you are talking about your sg-2100. I don't think what you are proposing would work. The SG-2100 has an azimuth angle of 150 degrees max, mine came out of the box with the adjustable sliders set at 70 degrees either side of 0. So if your longitude is 87 you should have no problem hitting 22 degrees. 87-70=17. Look in your manual there is a page explaining how to adjust the hardware limits. Perhaps yours is set to a narrower angle than mine.

Will do. Never looked that close at it just figured it was a sealed unit. Unless you wanted to void warranty. Thanks
