C Band Newbie

Hi All,
I am new to C Band. I am just starting to look at the equipment and am getting a little sticker shocked. I am not sure that this is for me but I am very interested. My question is does anyone know of a place I can buy used stuff to start with? I would like to start this way and than move up to the better stuff a little later.

If you don't mind knocking on some doors just drive around your neighborhood and look for some yards that have a c-band dish and DBS dish in the yard. Ask the owner if they want to get rid of the C-band dish. Most of the c-band dishes aren't being used anymore by their owners. I picked up a couple doing this along with the receivers for free or next to nothing. All I had to do was take the dish down.

Thats a good idea. If fact I did just that and found a old primestar system just down the street. I am going to go and take it down later today. The owner has some of the stuff so I will be looking for a few things after I get it ripped down and drag it home.
