    Multiswitch not working correctly?

Recently purchased and just installed a new JVI multiswitch from the eBay store JVI 35-DN34 35DN34 on a Dish Network 311 receiver. I know it's only a single tuner model, but I wanted this for the diplexer to add in an off air antenna signal.
Normally I get 110, 119 and 129. Upon installing the switch I only get 119.
So I ran system info and check switch and still no go.

Doing so you disable the internal switch in the dish lnb. That's why you're getting 119 only. To get a signal from off air antenna, simply use a diplexer.

    Welcome here.

Do you have a diplexer on the receiver side? You will need that if you don't have one.

Pictureon, good to see you back and posting.

My understanding is the JVI multiswitch I purchased has a builtin diplexer... Does it not?
Also using just a diplexer does not give me the additional ports I need for addtional receivers.

Just to clarify... I currently have a single cable coming from my satellite directly to my Dish Network receiver.

    you cant do that

Those multiswitches are designed for one satellite setups like 119. Multuple satellite setups like that wont work with the multiswitch

the easiest thing is just get 2 diplexers.

Since you only have one receiver, you really don't need this switch. Just use two diplxers like this:

If you want to use the DN34 switch, then you will need to run 3 cables from the LNBF assembly to the switch. Another cable from the OTA antenna to the switch. Then use another diplexer at the receiver side as shown on the right side of the picture above.

Picture showing a DPP44 switch (but used here just to explain how to connect the LNBF assembly to the switch).

My intent with installing the multiswitch is that I plan on upgrading to additional receivers so I figured I might as well have it in place so I don't have to switch out the diplexer's later on for a multiswitch.

So basically for the multiswitch to work you must have 2 or more lines incomig from the LNBF?
