Dish 1000.4 and HD DVR ViP722 - Quick Question

First time setting up a duo, (self install) bit of a newb I guess ... have one HD tv and one SD tv. Setup DirectTV in the past without a hitch, and another Dish system (older model 5-6 years ago) without issues.

    Of course, as known, port 1 - 77, port 2 - 72.7 and port 3 - 61.5.

My question is about running cable to the dvr. It has two sat inputs, #1 and #2. I presume so that each tv has it's own tuner.

Am I supposed to run one single cable and use the included seperator that came with the ViP722? Or should I run two cables directly from the LNB to the dvr? And which ports on the LNB to use??

May be a dumb question, but after digging around online, I haven't found a definite answer. I know the 1K.4 supports up too 3 duo receivers, correct?

Just wanted to confirm before cutting and making cables. Thanks in advance. The dish is up and installed, already preconfigured for SK, AZ and EL. Once I connect the LNB, then I can simply make some fine adjustments to get it tuned in. (keyword, simply LoL)

If you are using a 622b or newer DVR then you are correct using one cable and the separator. For 722 and the new 922 consult your owners manual. DNW Tech support portal on the web can confirm this.

As the owners manual states -

Connect two RG-6 coaxial cables between the SATELLITE IN 1 and SATELLITE IN 2 ports on the receiver’s back panel to two available ports on either the switch, DISH Pro Plus Separator, or LNBF in your existing system.

I'm not using a switch ... so that leaves the seperator and LNB ... if I read that correctly, it can be done using a seperator or running two seperate lines to the LNB.

Any recommendation on which route to take? Any adverse effects of using one line with the seperator as opposed to running two seperate lines?

Just use one cable from dish to separator, then use two short cables from separator to DVR receiver. You will be just fine.

BTW, I recommend you use RG6/U Solid Copper Core coaxial cable.
Good luck and enjoy your new receiver. You will like the DVR capabilities of the 722. Awesome user interface.
