Help locating souther satellite

When I go to Geo Sat Finder it tells me my southern most bird is G4 (76.8 w), I don't have that on my receiver so there is no way for me to tweak my signal. The second closest is 79w which I do have. Does it make a difference. I have a HH DG 280 motor with a 39inch dish and a spacestar. I am in VA at 22202 and completely struggling. I have a compass but I am having a hard time finding true south becuase of all the steel and Iron on my balcony, any idea? At this point in time I am open to anything as I have been at it for two day. I have installed a toriadol dish with 5 lnb's so I thought this would be a walk in the park, boy was I wrong. these signals are quite weak compared to Dishnetwork or DIRECTV. So yes they are a challenge to find.

79w is fine, couple degrees either side from your true south heading is fine for setting up.

One trick you can do with compass is point your stuff to true south then walk 30 feet away from your dish. Turn around hold compass so true south looks "thru you" - exactly behind you.
Now look back at your dish. The LNB arm should be pointing right at you.
Even if you are on a balcony if you are on the ground looking back the result will be the same.

One key point is to be sure you are on an active transponder while hunting for the signal. for 79w it's NYNet channels. They are at 12182 H with symbol rate of 23000.
Only move the dish in 1/8" increments looking for quality indication blip.
