I just wanted to get some verification that I am using the correct "markers" on my H-H motor and the dish. Nothing in the manual says what exactly to use as the "pointer" for setting this angle. I've attached pictures so you can see a little about what I am talking about...
First the H-H motor:
I am using what appears to be a somewhat pointed nub as the "pointer" to point at 29.6 degrees. Or am I supposed to be lining up with the straight line right next to the nub?
Second is the dish elevation. I know this is a horrible picture, for some reason the camera didn't want to focus right, but it should be good enough for a description:
As you can see, there is a RED mark that is the only obvious pointing device. However, the red mark spans almost 5 degrees. Do you use the EDGE of the metal, the middle of the red mark, or the inner edge of the red mark closer to the nut?
Or is all of this just kind of guess/nudge work? The details you can obtain as to where to point these dishes are much more accurate than the instruments/measuring devices you get to hit those angles, so I am assuming you only have to be "close".
Still, I guess I am anal in my attempt to get the settings as close to what it should be as possible. I figure the closer I get it to the precise calculations given, the less problems having to nudge things around.

Yeah, these manufacturers don't make it easy. The motor has that raised metal area coming to a point on the left edge of it. Use that point.
On the dish, I used the edge of where the red paint meets the white paint. Remember, you will point your dish using the motor to your most south satellite. Then you need to adjust the entire assembly that attaches to the pole, left and right until you get a somewhat good signal. Then you should loosen the dish and adjust its elevation up and down to get an even stronger signal. Do this a couple of times to hone in to your strongest signal. good luck
