    Bloomberg on T6 at 11834V

I noticed that something changed. I don't get sound anymore. What happened?

They are teasing us here. 2 channels with video but no audio, one channel with audio but no video, one channel with both audio/video encrypted. Here is another way you can get arround, you can mix FTA video and FTA audio together if your receiver is able to do manul pids:
Create a new channel using these FTA pids:
    Video: 39
    Audio: 52
    PCR: 39

Michael, thanks. But my receiver won't allow me to change pid, although it offers "edit pid" function. The only way I can add channel is by searching
PID, it won't give me a channel unless I got all three number correct.

The other thing I noticed was that we talked about AC3, and the reason that I don't get sound from some PBS channels on AMC 3 was because that the sound was in AC3.

    I checked my receiver ( IR-2000, a rip-off, I just realized!) spec, and for sound decoder, it says: MPEG/MusiCam layer I & II, MP3, AC3

So, the receive suppose to decode AC3 sound, but it does not

Also, the process of my recieve is: STI5518

I wonder if you can connect the receive to a PC and use some software to perform functions your remote control won't allow you to do.

Not sure about this. Contact the manufacture to see if there is editing software for this receiver. I would not take risk to use any third party software with my receiver. Using wrong software/firmware might get the receiver damaged permenantly.

Your receiver does not "decode" AC3 per say. What it does is strips the AC3 stream off of the carrier and sends it to the digital audio receptacle on the back of your receiver. You need a stereo that can take a digital input in order to listen to the stream. Or you need to invest in a computer PCI video card as there is software that will use the computer to do the actual AC3 audio decoding and let you listen on soundcard output. :?
