Motor switch question

I have a Satcontrol SM3D22 motor with the built in diseqc switch, The problem I have is that when you switch between port 1 & 2 the motor move like 6 degrees. Why does it move , second is there a way to bypass the motor switch, And still have it work without the 6 degree shift its a real pain. Im useing a Invacom QPH 031 lnb And a viewsat ultra & a fortec star fc90u.Any ideas Thanks.
