it really depends on your location. As an example I am in MN (45N 93W). I use IA6 because the channels on that satellite are very strong (and its my true south satellite)

What sat are you trying to hit? Doing a search of your previous posts it appears you may be running a FTA receiver with heavily modified software to allow viewing of Nagra2 encrypted channels. If this is the case you will need to contact the software author. Many of the softwares available to do this requires disabling many of the core requirements for viewing FTA. In other words you may not be able to simply align the dish or use a motor or multiple lnbfs or a whole host of other features a stock FTA receiver is capable of doing.
Only the original author knows what can and can not be done with his / her software. Only the original author can help you with any issues you may have.

Ku is split between circular and linear (C Band is also) so the sat you are trying to hit and the lnbf you are using are the first two items to look at. You can not view programming from a circular sat with a linear lnbf and same in reverse.

Being in Montreal your due south satellite would be SBS6 at 74.0 west.
The Ohio News Network is on there with a strong transponder 11741, horizontal polarization. If you've got a clear shot of the southern sky give that one a try.
Set your elevation to about 38 degrees and your direction (azimuth) to due south (NOT magnetic south!) You shouldn't have to adjust the orientation of the LNB in the holder (the "skew"). Just keep it as vertical as possible.
Ideally you'll want to have the receiver hooked to a tv nearby so you can watch the signal change as you adjust the dish. Take your time making adjustments. The response from the receiver is a lot slower with a linear LNB than a circular one.

Ok now that we know what read the lnbf is do you know standard or uni? If standard you want to set your receiver to 9750 for low LO and 10750 for high LO unless your receiver only takes one input for LO and if that is the case you set to the higher (10750). If your lnbf is a UNI you set your LO to 9750 and 10600 respectively. If you do not have a UNI setting proprogrammed into the receiver. If you have to put it in manually the UNI uses 22MHZ to switch. You will need to make sure it is on auto or on for the V (I think).
If it doesn't work that way 22Mhz on is for H tp's. The switch is built into the lnbf but requires signal from the receiver.

If he has a standard (ie 10750) lnb, he shouldn't set anything to 9750???
You want the receiver set to match the LO freq of the LNB, and if that is 10750, then that's what you set it to. If you have to put in 2 freqs use 10750 for both.

My BEC receiver asks for a low LO and a high LO. The low LO for a standard lnb is 9750. The high LO is 10750. I am assuming if I were to enter 10750 for both the receiver would have no range Just for kicks I will try entering 10750 for the low LO and see what happens.
My Fortec receiver only has a single entry for LO which is set to high or 10750 in other words. I do not remember the Coship setup.
