Question about install - quad lnb

I have a question

I have a quad dish pro head.

I want to hook up a dp34 switch and a single line to another box from the head, not from the dp34 switch, is this possible?

Does it matter what lines the dp34 are hooked into the quad?

Does the switch talk to all of the quad lines or just the two it is hooked up too?

Or the single line which location is best to run it too on the head?

Any help on this would be great.

Thanks
