What do you mean by "non pair" transponders? You mean you are getting only the odd numbered ones or only the even numbered ones?

It doesn't matter what transponder you use to find the signal but it does matter which one you use when downloading software into a brand new receiver.

OK; do you have any splitters on the cable coming in from the dish? Do you have a proper DishNetwork switch installed? You must have a dual output LNB. Check the cable for any bad connectors or loose connectors. If you still have problems then replace the switch and LNB in that order.

If you have no switch then you don't need to run the switch check, unless you have the Fatboy style LNB with 4 outputs. Do you have a Dish 500 or a single 18" dish?

OK, gotcha...

So I suspect a bad LNB. Also double check the cable connections especially if they are joined anywhere along the run. Make sure the connectors are on tight to the LNB and receiver.
