HELP! combining 119 and 121

I am about to order a new dish system.
I expect them to install a dish pointed at 119 with dishpro lnb and dish pro reciever. Is this assumption correct?

Now, i would like to add an international channel. This is on 121, and hence requires the superdish. Charlie wants me to pay 100 bucks for this.

I have a 30 inch FTA dish with a linear universal lnb. Can this be aimed at 121 instead of the superdish? If so, which switch can I use to combine the signals from the two dishes. Thanks in advance

Yea, I belive that will work for your other sat. You might have to use a different lnb for your DN receiver. You will need a DP34 switch to combign all 3 sats. They aren't cheap. I bought mine off of e-bay for $45 and DN offers then for around $100. Ask DN if the $100 superdish comes with a DP34 switch. If it does then you might be better off getting the $100 superdish/DP34 switch deal. Hope that helps.

There happens to be a dish 500 dish on my roof. I assume it has legacy lnbs. Can I get a legacy reciever from somewhere and subscribe to dish service new? Now can I attach the Ku band lnb (single) to this with a SW21 (legacy switch)

yes. Any receiver will work with Legacy LNBF's. There would be no commitment if you buy your own equipment.

yep. That's what I'm doing
Dish500 feed to "1" on the SW21 switch
The 30" dish to "2" of the switch

run a check switch, and it should all work fine. Channel 900 shows that you have a Superdish (or something like it) at 121.

Dish doesn't support "Poor Mans Superdish"...but thats what we're here for
