LNB Question?
I just got the Mkit-1B Bundled System with Motor. I am using SV HD800 as STB. This setup comes with 2 way SM21H Switch. What settings should I use for LNB and switch with this STB??? Having difficulty getting a signal

Make that "SV HD8000" and the lnb is QPH031 0.3 dB Quad LNBF and switch is SM21H 2-Way 22KHz. I just am trying to find out if I should choose Legacy Quad A and B for LNB setup and what selectio to chooses for switch for this STB!
Thanks for any help!!!!!

I don't know about that receiver, but I would recommend setting it up simply first to get your motorized dish aimed properly.
1. Connect Coax to the L (linear) of your LNB. Set your receiver to the 10750 frequency for linear signal.
2. Take tv and receiver to your motorized dish and set the receiver to your southern most satellite with a good strong active Ku band transponder and get your dish aimed to that the best you can.
after you have your dish properly aimed, you can then install a switch and get the circular signals on other satellites.... but first thing you need to do is get your dish on the arc.
There probably is more info you need, but we don't know all your situation.
good luck

Thanks Vitruvius,
I have read some of your other posts and i was wandering how you set your Motor Latitude Angle. Do you measure from the mark on the motor or do you measure from the end of the bracket for correct latitude. There is a clear red mark on dish bracket for that setting but on the motor I'm not sure?? I have the DG280 motor.
Thanks for any assistance!!

You set the motor angle on the side of the bracket... it, the motor has a protractor chart on each side.... One is the latitude and the other side is the elevation angle I think. There should be a small mark in the slip joint that you need to align to thte elevation.
The manual should have all this.
But if you have more questions.. give us another shout... good luck.

Thanks Again for the assistance!
Somehow I am not tracking the Arc correctly. Not to mention, I think the motor has a mind of it's own. LOL! I was trying to fine tune A Sat and was scanning a TP and the dish took off to the extreme East! ????? With the Bundled system I purchased it came with a DG280 motor with a 42mm shaft. My question is that when I install the dish bracket it mounts all the way to the top of the shaft, is this correct. There are two holes on the shaft. One at the top and the other near the bottom. The way this dish bracket mounts, the only way it will work is in the top hole. Just trying to maybe pin down why I am not able to get a signal on some of the more popular SATS! Dish 110, 119, and either Nimic Sat. The only Sat I have been able to Scan and get video is AMC4 101W. I have checked and re checked the pole and it is plumb. Not sure what I am Missing here?

Yes, slide the dish mount up the pole and slip the long bolt thru the motor pole hole at the top to secure your dish to the motor. There are a couple of other nuts to tighten.
The sats you are trying to get are circular frequencies. You can find out whether a sat has circular or linear frequencies by looking at the charts on Lyngsat.com. They are usually for pay per view only and not FTA. FTA typically uses linear frequencies.

Thanks Vitruvius,
That's the way I currently have the dish setup. It just seems kinda low. I guess I am used to a roof mount and it seems that it has a different angle. With the SM21H 2-Way 22KHz switch, do I need to set the receiver to recognize a port or do I leave the switch setting off? This is not a diseqc switch, so the diseqc settings should be left to off? I am not getting any signal on circular freq's at all? I have noticed that with a signal (SAT) finder the motor acts weird????
Thanks to anyone with feedback or advice!!

There are only a couple of circular transponder sats that are FTA. 119 has Nasa, and there is a Nimiq sat that has Canadian stations. Are you tuned in to anything?
If you have two cables to a switch and then one coax going to your receiver you need to set the info in the receiver. I don't anything about the 22 hz switch versus a Diseqc switch. Usually there is a setting in the reveiver for each satellite to tell it which LNB to use. It is usually a 1, 2, 3, or 4 and sometimes it is LNB A or LNB B.
