Dish 119 and 110

On dishnetwork dish how do I know that I get both satellite signals 110 and 119 when using a regular analog satellite finder. How could that be possible with satellites about 10 degrees apart from eachother? Thnk you

The analog satellite finder will lock onto either 110 or 119; you have no way of knowing which is which; for precise satellite identification you need a signal meter such as the Birdog. However, you can generally tell which satellite your have locked onto based on the azimuth of the dish. You know that 119 is 9 degrees apart from 110 so as you move the dish your meter will lock onto one and then the other - allow for elevation adjustment of course; if you are using a Dish500 then its pretty easy since the Dish500 will allow maximum signal strength for the 110 once you lock onto 119 or vice versa; adjust the skew to peak the secondary satellite.

PS: If you do a lot of installs, get yourself a Birdog -- you won't regret it - trust me...
