DG240 Question

I received my new DG240 motor and got it installed easily. I first marked my pole as to where the dish was pointing to TS before I removed my old motor. Next I set the angles on the DG240, eye balled the direction of the dish on the pole and presto I had a picture !! Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good So far I give the DG240 a thumbs up, the quality seems to be very good, and the mark to set the degrees is very easy to read.

I replaced a SM3D22 with the DG240 because I wanted more movement to be able to get 72w. I can get the DG240 to move to 61w, which is about 60 degrees on the DG240's scale. This weekend others were watching live earth on 58w. If I have enough travel should the motor move east a few more degrees ?

My TS is 116.8w, I'm using a Coolsat 5000, DG240, Invacom QPH-031. I also have a universal LNB if I could have gotten the DG240 to move to 58w.

Thanks for any insight to my questions,

Ken

I'm using a GeoSatPro 90cm Dish. The dish seems to work just fine. I made a elevation adjustment bracket to allow fine tuning, which helps A LOT. I can tell you that the DG240 has NO play what so ever, seems to be well built. Like I said in my first post, just set both angles per the instruction book and it worked. I did make minor adjustment to peak the signal but not much. The main reason I replaced my SM3D22 was to get more travel to get a bit more East. The SM3D22 would give me maybe 47-49 degrees, which JUST got me to 74w. The DG240, so far, will travel to 61.5w and it still seems to have a good 20 degrees of travel left. The whole point of my post was to see why I can't get the last 20 degrees.

Me too!

I bought an SM3D22 several month ago and just got around to installing it a couple days ago. It replaced a Stab HH90 (what a piece of ****, I couldn't believe the amount of slop it had, most of the time Italians make good stuff!!). I also have a GeoSat Pro 90cm dish/QPH-031 mounted to it. My problem is the opposite, it stops at 119W and I would like to get to 129W, 131W, 133W, 135W, 137W and with the DG 240 it looks like it will go to 148W from my location 33.34Lat. -77.48Lon.

That code is simply the 3 data bytes that your receiver sends to the motor in DiseqC-1.2 mode when it sends the "Disable Limits" command. For most receivers there is absolutely no need to know the code, and no way to use it if you did know it. The only way I've seen to send the raw codes like the above are with a PCI card receiver when using some 3rd party programs.

I'm not familiar with your Coolsat 5000, but most likely if you choose DiseqC-1.2 that you will see that command there.
