Dishnetwork/BEV switch

I am trying to point a 20 inch BEV dish at Nimiq 1 & 2, it has 2 LNBs and I have the Videopath Multidish switch SW21. What I need to know is how is this switch controlled, is it 0/12V or is it 0/22K. I will be running from the switch into a Diseqc switch as well and connecting to a Satwork 3618 receiver.

Thanks

Re: Dishnetwork/BEV switch

The SW21 can be controlled by the Diseqc 1.0 command BUT it will be VERY inconvenient to controll it. The problem is that the switch ends up at the wrong sat when you switch between 110 and 119. If you need more details how to controll the SW21 using Diseqc command, I can explain it to you later. It will be a long post to explain. Anyway, I recommend you to buy a Diseqc 2x1 or 4x1 to switch between 110 and 119.

RE: Switch

I'm not pointing at the 110 and 119 but at the Expressvu birds at 82 and 91. I already have a Diseqc 2.0 switch in the system but for the 4th dish in the group I wanted to point the double LNB BEV 20" dish to pickup the music channels and the unencrypted news channels on the 2 Nimiq birds. If the SW21 switch isn't 0/12V or 0/22K then I will have to pick one up if it will work on the dish side of the Diseqc Switch. If not I will have to rethink.

Thanks

Re: RE: Switch

My bad. I guess that you have the Diseqc 4x1, 3 ports are in use now, only one for free?
If that's the case, you can buy a 0/22khz. A combination of Diseqc 4x1 and 0/22khz will allow you to connect up to 8 dishes.
FYI, most of the music channels are on Nimiq1. If you really want to get both of EV sats, adding a 0/22khz is a way to go.

Yes, the Videopath SW21 switches are controlled by a different switching pattern, so like Michael says - you must use a 22KHz switch for use with your brand of receiver.
