    Hd Fta

Now that there are FTA HD receivers being sold for around $350-$400 can anyone tell me if it's worth it?
I have an TV capable of displaying 1080p and am looking for a receiver to watch asian FTA stations which are probably not broadcast in HD.

    Thanks

In my book I would say yes they are worth the $, but as far as I know their is no asian FTA channels in HD. an here most of our FTA channels that we view are from c-band in HD. once you start watching HD vidio you are hook on it. right now I got 3-HD mpeg receivers, an 2 of them do DVBS-2, wich is some thing that you may want to think about if you are going to get a new receiver, because their has been a lot more feeds going to the S-2 format here recently. also some thing else to condsider is with a HD mpeg receiver an viewing a SD picture seems to look better than viewed from a SD receiver.
10-FT ChannelView solid, 10-FT Channel Master mess on Ajax 180 mount, 10-FT Channel Master mess on CM H2H mount, 12-FT Paraclispe w/circular c-band, 1.2m on HTS H2H mount, Eagle 90cm w/Pansat-900 motor. 2 many receivers an fixed ku dishes to list.

Also, I would recommend and MPEG4 capable DVB-S2 receiver instead of the MPEG2. All new HD FTA channels most likely will be MPEG4 to conserve bandwidth.
