Question DVD Recorder

The new TV season is about to begin and I need to buy a new DVD recorder. I know all of them now have to have a ATSC tuner installed if they have a tuner.

What brands and models have been used and with what success?

Thanks,

I did some shopping and came to the conclusion that there are not many DVD recorders that can record all the high def shows now available OTA locally. You might to find a converter to transfer the high def signal to regular to record it. Otherwise a digital recorder (TiVo like) device or recording onto a computer would be the way to go.

I have a combo DVD recorder and VHS VCR, but waiting for something better to come along.

Combo

I have a JVC DVD/VCR recorder combo. The problem is my analog signal on the 2 stations I watch most is fair to terrible. On digital they are perfect. It really hurts to watch one of my favorite shows that I had to record on a crappy recording. I don't really care about HD, just digital.

Thanks,

dvd recording..

lucky for you, they are now making the DVD recorders with ATSC digital tuners built in. I bought a LG DVD recorder last year and it only had an analog tuner but recorded great off my Mercury II satellite tuner.... just not HD.
I recently bought a LG Combo DVD and VHS recorder for my parents and it has the ATSC tuner built in... I haven't used it yet, but when I do I will let you know how it goes. It has a great tuner but it has a loud fan.
