it's supposed to be one in aberdeen. friend of mine can watch IA-5,but he has fortec lifetime ultra receiver
I hope the instructions found here could be of help to you: FORTEC STAR5900 Installation Instructions Digital FTA Satellite Receivers
i read instructions and tried again, did not help. still nothing
are you using a motor? or just trying to receive one sat and if so what sat.setups are different between fixed location and motor.also your receiver is not a blind scan receiver so you will need to program TP freq and SR freq. see lynsat.com for active TP and SR freq.also remember IA5 has changed name to Galaxy 25.![]()
Hi:
My name is Ziyou Xiong. I bought a S-4 system last week in order to watch CCTV-4. Let me provide some information about what I have:
1. My Location: Wethersfield, Connnecticut, Zip code 06109
2. Receiver make and model: Fortec Star 5900 (FS5900)
3. Dish Size: 80 cm, i.e., 31''
4. LNBF type: Standard Single KUL1
5. No Motor
6. Question: Why is the signal quality always 0% with signal strength around 80%? Is my dish too small?
I followed the installation instructions to set up the dish to Azimuth = 212 degrees, Elevation = 37.2 degrees, and LNPF skew = 23.5 degrees.
I also used the satellite meter to find a satellite at that location. I heard the loud buzz from the satellite meter.
My goal was to watch CCTV-4 on the KU band of the 95W Galaxy 3C satellite. On the receiver setup screen, I selected the following parameters:
Satellite: 265.0' KU-Galaxy 3C
Transponder: 11780H 20760 3/4
LNB Power: 13/18V
LNB Type: 9750/10600
22KHZ: Auto
Switch Type: None
Option: None
My symptoms are that the signal quality is always 0% with signal strength around 80%, or even 100%, no matter
how I fine-tune the dish. Could anybody help?
I called Satoun.com 1-888-519-9595 number to ask whether it is due to that the dish size is small. I was told by
one person that it is not small. Is it really so?
Thanks in advance.
Ziyou
Change LNB Type to: 10750
G3C is a strong satellite. Your dish size should be good.
I purchase a FORTEC STAR 5900 some time ago and did not have it connected. I finally connected it with a motor. The problem that I am having is no signal quality; much like ziyouxiong. I don't know if the information in it is out of date or what. I tried everything. Can someone help. My location: Grovetown, Ga 30813. scox229432@aim.com. Need help.
