I have done a search regarding the STB Editor and the Fortec Star 786 v3 as I want to edit my TP and Channel files and also add a couple of satellites that are not on the list in the receiver. There seemed to be conflicting information regarding the serial cable to buy...some said a Null Modem cable and some said not to use the Null Modem cable...which cable does one use? I tried using a standard serial cable with a gender changer and got the please power off and then on message which I tried with no luck. There seems to be no manual or instructions with this editor...in my search I ran across several posts with connection issues but no one helped. Any help would be appreciated.
