Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra Digital Satellite Receiver Help

Hello, I hope someone can help me here. I have a Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra Digital Receiver which was working fine and now it won't turn back on. Now I A friend of mine told me to flash the receiver, but I'm not sure if that's what I have to do or what. Can anyone tell me what I can do and if there is a solution. Thank you guys......

So it does power up? any lights? Maybe the switching power supply problem capacitors breakdown. If it does power up you may not be able to flash it. not sure what you are watching with it but if you are watching normal FTA and turn it off and now it will not power up I would suspect the power supply. Even if you power off the receiver the power supply is still running. When I'm done with my equipment for the day I turn it off with the rear power switch to save the wear and tear of the power supply. If you want send it to me I'll look at it I've had pretty good luck with these switching supplies.
