using latest update - HDS2_SatHawk_Motor.abs - and having a few questions.

i am getting lockups doing the multi-channel search for channels. and i messed up trying to load the saved channel download because i was trying to save a new version instead of the one i had created in the past. first, can i save the backup with a different name that what the pvr-800 gives it? if not, can i pull out the flash drive and use the computer to rename it? or just save it on the computer and then put it back on the flash drive if i screw up again?

i don't know where the multiple scan is hanging up. it is not on the same satellite everytime.

i bought a 22" element flat screen yesterday. it is working ok and the display is clear but the picture is not as soft as i like. it is too bold between colors so i will play with the display. i do like the display from update HDS2_0325_america.abs better. and i hope the next update works like the 325 for mutiple scans instead of the new update. charlie

Save your channel list on your computer in a folder that you remember, and put it on the usb stick when you want to revert to the original list. That's what I do. I have both the firmware and system state file, plus my editted basic channel list, in a folder named "initial load" , for when I want to initialize the box. Of course, You will want to update it periodically as things change.

I haven't seen the hangup on the multiscan, although it does take quite a while to scan the whole list. I have taken the time to remove all the transponders before doing the initial blindscan, so there are no bogus entries. Perhaps that's a possibility for you.

I see no color difference on two different displays using HDMI and component outputs. If you use the composite output however, the last firmware produces a picture which has a green tint.

https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0Bz1...ZTFhNzdi&hl=en for the latest. It's on the same page as the Sathawk details.
