    Need help with FreeVu DCD2100

I've just bought a brand new FreeVu DCD2100 FTA system, but it does not seem to pick up any signal especially the Telstar5. I'm in NYC and it seems I am on the right angle 97W. Its quality signal just stays at 10% and there's no other surrounding signals whatsoever. I've tried to follow all of the necessary transponder and frequencies, but no luck. Is there anyone out there who can help me making this to work? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I have the DCD2000 system which has most of the same functions, but lacks a blind ability to channel search, so I have to pay close attention to lyngsat etc... Make sure your LNB type is set to fixed (or moved if you have a motor) and set the frequency of your LNB to the highest (i think its 10750). and if your looking at T5, I think the best freq to get a lock is 11836. Have you ran across any updated software for this type of receiver. I know its made by Shenzhen success digital technology, bu tI haven't been able to find any software for it. The other thing, is it programmable with Satcodx protocol, to update sat list? maybe you know. Let me know if this fixed your prob.

I've tried your settings, but no luck at all. I think the transponder is too low in my area. According the research I found, they say it has to be at least 26 or 27, but in the Freevu 2100 has only up to 13 max.

Is there anyone out there who can help me with this freevu 2100 receiver to work with vtv5 or telstar5? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

anakin with a compass make sure your pointing at 213.1 deg plus the magnetic deviation for your area. I don't live in the US but it looks like it would be about plus 14 deg for NEW York City. Point your dish at 227.1 degrees.

Hope this helps if you haven't already tried it.

Thanks for your help. But I have already tried to point my dish to 227.1, but no luck. It seems like the TP for dcd2100 isn't high enough. From reading at other articles, the TP has to be at least 26 or 27, but this receiver can only go up to 13 max. I've also tried to manual enter the TP settings, but still has no quality signal. Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what you are refering to when you say the TP only goes to 13.
You can add as many as you want. In channel setup go to frequency click ok. You will see a menu with all the transponders. To add more transponders, click the blue button on your remote to add, green button to save.

I'm not sure whether the dish or the lnb has any problem. When I first received the dish, it got a few dents on the edge of the dish. I used a clamp to straighten it out. The seller of the dish did offer me for a replacement, but before I send it back (which will cost me another shipping fortune), I just want to make sure if all of the configurations and settings I have done with the receiver are correct. And so far, I have followed all of different instructions and suggestions from different sources including yours, but I still have no luck.

    anakin,
Ask in the Installation forum if there is any installers in your area willing to just point the dish for $20. That would be cheaper than returning the dish.
