Mostly what we use are oval dishes. The FortecStar 80cm and 90cm ( and probably the other, I'd have to check the specs ) are oval. Perhaps you mean elliptical, like an old
DTV Phase III dish ? At any rate, certainly a motor will turn the dish, as long as it doesn't weigh too much. Whether you get a quality signal depends upon the lnbf's being used , the signal gathering gain of the dish ( let's say equivalent size to a standard oval , 90cm , 1.2 meter, etc ), and whether you are aimed correctly. I have seen motorized Dish500 setups, but it seems pretty strange to me, when a motorized 90 cm dish , aimed directly at the bird, will give you much better signal quality.
