MKit 1 Recieving Atlantic and Pacific Satellites

If I want to get the 10.7 ~ 11.7 GHz to pickup more like the Atlantic
and Pacific satellites along with my other satalights will the MKit1 you
recommended still work with this?

I don't know what is in these various kits, but what you want to look for is that to receive the 10.7-11.7 band, you need a "Universal" lnbf, and whatever kit you buy, there are options to change lnbfs, so you have to consider which lnbf you choose. There are advantages and disadvantages to using a universal lnbf, but if you want that low band, then that's what you need.

Rudy,
I'd upgrade to a 90cm dish on the mkit1, and expect much better results. From Maine, I wouldn't expect you'd get too far over the Pacific, but certainly to the east , you should have good luck. Figure that your longitude +- 70 degrees of motor rotation as your approximate range for hitting birds.

The first thing you ought to do is survey your site. Use an angle finder to see where the satellites are in the sky. It wouldn't matter how big your dish is or how good your receiver is if you got something obstructing the satellite signal.

If you want Atlantic sats you will need the Universal lnbf. I doubt you will get anything out over the Pacific if you can see sats over the Atlantic. The birds over the Pacific are out there on the arc. I am in Indiana and can not see past 148. Can see down to about 20 in the East. That is really pressing it though. The upgrade to a 90cm dish is worth every penny but as someone has suggested make sure you have a clear sight to the sats you desire. Signal does not go through nor around tree limbs.
