Fun stuff on 97W

I had fun last night tuning through the many many FTA channels available on 97W.

Although there are many contenders for the title, my favorite has got to be the Maharishi channel. Some, um, "interesting" stuff there!

If I had a fixed dish, 97W would be where I fix it to! Great variety there.

Speaking of 97W (G25)

I did a Power Scan on this sat and got all that cool stuff last night and today. Then I tried to set up SBS 6 but just couldn't get it and have never been able to get it.

Anyway, after that I could no longer get anything from G25. My signal levels were coming in at 25% to 45%. I got up on the ladder and checked east-west / north-south and the dish was perfectly centered on the signal. Specifically checking Russia Today.
Details:
Russia Today
TP: 11815
Pol: H
SR: 21984
VPID: 7001
Signal Strength: 35% no lock

Also looked at UA TV (can't view but can see sig level)
TP: 11722
Pol: H
SR: 21984
VPID: 4024
Signal Strength: 85%
What I really missed today were the tons of music channels I was able to get yesterday.

So, is this a common thing?
It was a bit cloudy but very thin clouds here in the Tucson, AZ area.

Could it be that when I scanned it in yesterday it was just over the lock threshold and today no joy?

Would an in-line amp help in a situation like this?

Thanks.

Sounds more like an alignment issue. Is this a motorized or stationary setup? If motorized what is your south sat (the sat located at your longitude). How is your signal there. Why do you believe you are lined up correctly e-w?

this is solar outage time of the year again if you are trying to receive a sat while the sun is aligned with it you won't get much but this usualy only last for a short peiord of time unless you move the dish to the next sat west as the sun moves west. but as Steve suggested more likely a alignment problem.

All is well. I had accidentally moved it to the east a couple notches with the motor control doing a test on that sat and forgot to return it. Then later in the eve thought I had a problem. I gues that kind of stuff happen when live near a retirement community. Everything is fine!
