depends on how many receivers you are working with.

I have 8 dual LNB's running into 4 4x4 multiswitches. One output from each multiswitch goes to a diseqc switch so I can control all 8 LNB's

    Current Setup
-30" Winegard Dish, SG2100 motor, Sadoun dual LNB, Coolsat 5000
-Wave Frontier Toroidal T90 42x40" dish with LNB's on 72,74,79,83,85,87,91,93,97, 101,103,107.3,110,119...36" dish at G10...6 foot Fortec dish aimed at G4/G16
    -Coolsat 8000 picking up 74,79,85,87,91,93,97,123,C-Band
-Fortec Ultra & Pansat 1500 picking up 72,74,79,85,91,93,97,103,123,C-Band
    -StarChoice DSR205, Dish 811

I'm trying to understand your setup. From your sig, it looks like you are picking up 14 positions on the Toroidal dish, unless I am not counting correctly.

How many total LNB's do you have? What is the total number of coax lines from all dishes going into your house?

I'm only asking because I really like your setup, but, I know my wife would never let me have anything remotely similar to yours if it means several dishes!

    Thanks for clearing things up.

    Total LNB's on the T90? 14
Total LNB's for free to air? 11
107.3, 110, 119 are tied up in subscription services (StarChoice for 107.3, Dish for 110/119)

One dish would handle most of the arc. The only drawbacks are
40 degree span and 2 degree separation isnt recommended (the brackets are too big)

I have 4 4x4 multiswitches (4 cables in 4 cables out) set up. So that can take 8 LNB's (the input needs both V & H cables set up) but on some I have only one side of the multiswitch set up for the LNB. This allows me to get more LNB's set up but I only get one polarity on that satellite.

Like 72 almost all the stuff is on V. So I plug that into the 13v on the multiswitch. 83 H is the same way. So that allows me to go beyond 8 LNB's

On the multiswitches, each output goes to a 4x1 diseqc so I can run 4 receivers

    WOW!

    Lots of cables.

My wife would kill me if I had that many wires coming into our house!

You do seem to have a supreme setup!

you could say we're big pimpin here at the Berg house

First house I've owned so I've had fun with running cables. There was a spot in the living room where they had a wall plate that had 2 cables coming in. I drilled a couple holes in it and have 4 coax wall plate.

A drop ceiling in the basement is a godsend. Run the other 6 cables in the hole where the A/C pipes and stuff come into the house and right above the drop ceiling is the living room floor. Drill a hole and voila, cables through the floor

    Talk about "fun running cables".........
From my current sat dishes, I have 2 ribbon cables (each with 2 rg6 plus about 8 other wires), and 3 other runs of regular RG6 cable. My problem, is that where I have my sat dishes, the only convenient way to get into the house is first undergrouind to my garage, then into my garage, and up to the 2nd floor of the garage where there is a crawlthrough passage that goes over a breezeway to the house. Then through a hole I drilled in the wall into a crawl space in the 2nd floor of my house. Problem is, that all my receivers are in the basement. To get to my basement, I found a couple drain pipes that went down to the basement inside a wall. I put a sinker on a fishing line, and dropped it down along side the pipe, and managed to get it to come out in the basement, then pulled up some nylon string, and with that pulled down each cable, one by one. Once into the utility room of the basement, I went across the ceiling to where it passes into the finished part of the basement. It has a false ceiling, however it isn't the kind with removable panels, it is tongue and grove pine, however, before it was installed, we had the contractor install a PVC pipe that I could pull wires through. Again, fishing line, but this time with a piece of cotton, put a vacuum on the other end of pipe, which sucked the cotton/fishing line, which I then used to pull the coax through. Also coming through the access hole in the false ceiling are the A/V wires going up to my TV on the main floor. Wires coming out of ceiling are shown below:

Not shown is a big hole I drilled in this outside wall, through which about a dozen coaxes come through from outside TV/scanner/ham radio antennas, and another set of ribbon cable that used to go to a dish I had out back before the trees blocked view of ALL satellites.

Then, the wires from the ceiling go to the back of my stack of sat receivers, shown below:

In this view, bottom to top are my Drake 1824, DSR4200b, one of my 4 TIVOs, DSR4200V, Fortec Ultra, RS 4 port A/V switch, Fortec Lifetime and Fortec Mercury2. Some of these aren't connected in this picture since I've been interchanging cables. Partly visible to the far right is one of my computers, which houses one of my Twinhan1020a PCI cards, a Broadlogic 1030, and a Air2PC OTA ATSC card. Not shown to the right is my Monterey 50/55 and my 2 soundblaster Extigy's which do AC3. Also not shown is an Icom 7000 receiver that I use for SR determination via the baseband output from one of the analog receivers.

Anyway, every day I am amazed that my wife lets me keep all these wires out in the open like this.

Oh, and also, ALL of these receivers and TIVO and the computer are all run remotely from upstairs, via a RS pyramid IR extender and a VNC program for the computer.
