Moteck SG-2100 question

Can anyone tell me what size allen wrench I need to remove the motor shaft on my Moteck sg-2100. I want to move the East limit setting. The wrenches I have tried are 1/4" (too big) and 7/32" (too small). Is it a metric size? I've got a lot of standard wrenches, but the above are the only ones close. Thanks

it probaly is metric don't know the exact size since i don't have this motor but you should be able to pick up a cheat set of metric at a auto parts store or WalMart.

Thanks, I'll try the auto parts route. I'll take the 2 that are close and try to find a metric in between. If my calculations are correct the 2 that I have that are too big (1/4" converts to 8/32") and too small 7/32", there's only 1/32" difference between the two. You'd think that one of them would work. But I guess 1/32" is huge in allen wrenches. Thanks for the input.

Ok, I picked up a set of metric allen wrenches today (needed 6mm, thanks rainman) and took the tube off the shaft today. The problem is that there weren't any limit adjustment sliders underneath the tube. So my question now is, can the limits be extended or is that not an option with the Moteck sg-2100.

There was a thread over in Satforums about a year ago on how to do this. I think that Steve from Indianna also posted it in this forum about the same time. So you'll have to search. If you can't find it in this forum try satforums. However, I'm not sure which version of SG2100 this was for, ie the Moteck or the one Sadoun sells.

Thanks for the links. I like to watch baseball on Hispasat @ 30.0w, but when I leave that sat, it affects the accuracy of my other satellites and I have to bump the motor to the east to get good signal strength on them. If I stay away from 30w the motor tracks flawlessly. I'm at 98.3w, so I'm thinking that 30w is very close to the east limit. I was hoping to extend the limit to see if that would solve my problem.

It requires disassembly of the motor. While you can remove (and modify and replace) access to the stops is from inside the case.

Thanks, I was hoping that it would be easier than that. I appreciate the input.
