Multi Dish System

I set up my FTA system a month ago. It was good fun, but boy do I have a slew of questions. I ordered the Motorized 80 dish with a 2100 motor and a Mercury II receiver. I am located in Northern Virginia west of Leesburg.

I don't think I am perfectly aligned to the Clarke Belt, but I do receive satellites from 85 to 103. Its given me the bug to a point that I am thinking of getting more dishes.

Question: Can you hook up a motorized dish and a fixed dish to one receiver? And if so what equipment is needed?

Question: Can you hook up two motorized dishes to one receiver?

Another note on Sadoun's directions for installing a motorized system. The directions on the website are much too vague for us noobies. They need to be more step by step, sort of like Dick and Jane, and with every move spelled out.
Thanks... Vitruvius

yeah you can hooked a fix dish and a motorized dish to one receiver all you will need is a disqec switch hook one port between lnb and motor hooked the other port to the fixed dish lnb. alot harder to hook up two motorized dishes to one receiver wouldn't recommend it.

An A/B switch could be used for dual or more motorized dishes. As to the directions on Sadoun's site, I really do not know how much simpler they could be. They say set the motor to the same as your latitude. Pretty straight forward. Even gives you the way to find your lat and long. As to setting the dish elevation it is x - declination. x being a magic number based on your motor. Declination is found in the chart provided.

Must start by pointing to your true south sat. That may not be explained as clearly but that sat is located at the same location as your longitude or the nearest one to it. Even tells you how to find true south. I found the instructs very easy to follow when I did my first install.
