FTA picture quality on HDTV

Hi folks,

I recently bought a Sony KDL40s2010 HDTV. The picture quality from my FTA sat(PANSAT reciever) on this TV with S-video is worse than my previous CRT tv. I know that this is expected with standard tv signals but I was wondering if there are any new recievers out there that can make an improvement. I don't want to get HDTV signals but just want to be able to get a better digital FTA picture on my new HDTV.
Would I get significantly better picture quality if I bought a new reciever with component connections?

might help some biggest problem with FTA signal is some channels over compress the signal so you won't get a clear picture.

Oh well, I guess we are stuck with this problem until someone comes up with a way for HDTV to pass through bad signals without trying to improve them, if that's possible
