Get great equipment - Not getting stations

I have my FTA equipment set up and it seems to be working correctly. But, I'm not finding any of the stations I thought I would - general interest, PBS, news - from American sources.

EQUIPMENT: CoolSat 6000 Premium receiver - 90CM Fortec Star dish - Invacom SNH031 LNBF - Sadoun DG380 motor. Mounted on 10 ft steel pole set in concrete and with guy wires to maintain plumb.

RESULTS: Using BLIND SCAN I have gotten LOTS of stations - mostly thjey seem to be commercial as nothing comes up on them. The ones that do work are on only 4 satellites: 15.0W Telstar 12 - 72.0W AMC6 - 87.0W AMC3 - 101.0W AMC4. I receive a lot of foreign (mostly Arabic, some Chinese, etc.) and many religious channels. However, no general interest, news, or PBS channels - as are listed on the Sadoun.Com site - FTA TV From Around The World - American TV.

QUESTION: Is it something I'm doing wrong? Shouldn't I be getting at least a few of these stations? What kind of stations are other people getting?

all the pbs stuff is at 87 on ku, pbs world, create and v-me running 24/7 plus a dozen or so feed channels that are busy every afternoon/evening.

you'll need an ac-3 decoder to get the pbs audio though

there is plenty of international news and stuff on 97 ku

123 ku has plenty of american stuff, rtn and my networks

when you scan them all, you'll have 100's of channels but you may only
like a handful or so

That is good that you have 4 or so sats tuned in. Try to program the other good satellites for stations. 15W is impressive. Where are you located?

Try 72, 74, 79, 91, 97, 101, 103, 121, 123.

If you can get signals on all of these, then you are on the arc.
I have been having a hard time getting the PBS stations on 87 with my 6 ft dish but get them on my small Ku dish. My arc is probably off or skew is off a bit on the LNB. Your problem maybe that you are off the arc just a bit. I would take a tv and the receiver right next to the dish and see if you can tune it a bit better to get those PBS stations. You can try moving the LNB in and out, and twisting it slightly when the dish is pointed to 87.
