Question Interested in starting

Hello,
I am interested in getting into FTA Satellite. I have a few questions. I used to have DirecTV is there anything besides the coax connections that run to the outside that can be reused. I mean the dish is still here attached to the house. Is it better to start from scratch and ditch the old dish? The next question I have concerns the stationary dish and a dish with a motor. I get the concept that a stationary dish is in one place and one satellite. (Or if you have an elliptical or a larger dish then maybe more satellites at once?) With the Motorized option, can the dish be positioned to a satellite using the receiver on the screen/remote/menu? Or do you have to manually tune the dish to where you want it, after you originally set the dish up? I am sorry in a way for all the questions, I just like knowing a lot of information before I make any decision. I also live in Northern Maine, in a town named Littleton. According to my Ham radio Grid square I am at Coordinates46.125041 -67.839044 about Any body know what I can pick up for Satellites here? Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing everyone and anyone! Any information will be helpfull in getting started. Is there anything else that I may need to know??? Thanks everybody!!!

The direct dish is to small for receiving fTA channels go with a 90cm dish.
stationary dish will only get you 1 or 2 sats at the most I would recommend a motorized system that way you can receive all the sats in your line of site. as for what you can receive we have some other members here from Maine maybe they will pipe in.

Cool What is a good starter package?

Thank you rainman for the information. I have been looking around and trying to find a good starter package. Do you and or anybody else have any suggestions. I am getting my level/compass/angle meter/signal strength (kit) together is there anything else I may need? I also have a small tv so when I finally get going I dont have to keep running into the house to check the reception. Thanks

the M2 system shown here is a nice starter package I would upgrade to a 90cm dish though.

Motorized Free To Air Satellite system will allow you to move the dish to several satellites to watch more channels.* A powerful solution if your favorite channels are available over several satellites. The receiver's remote control will actually con
