Dish Recommendation, please...

I'm a newbie with the world of FTA, so please bear with me. One of my goals would be to pull in FTA from Spain on Hispasat 1C/1D. I'm in Chicago, my Latitude is 41.8 and my Longitude is 87.7. I live in a 3 flat and I may have a clear shot looking East. The Hispasat 1C/1D satellite is over the Atlantic at 30.o W. (according to LyngSat). My question is, if you live in the Midwest, is it even possible to zero in on this satellite using a smaller dish setup? If so, what combination of dish and LNB would you guys recommend trying? I've been told I would need a 33" dish at 15.o Elevation with a linear LNB, I've also been told I would need a 36" dish...any ideas?

The bigger the dish the better but I am in SW IN and was getting that sat with no problems on a 76cm dish and linear lnbf

That's good news

Thanks elgemcdlf, That's good to know, we're not too far apart, so hopefully this will work. I just can't get away with putting a really large dish on the roof of our condo building.

Check LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite for that sat and the channels you desire. Pay attention to the beam location. That sat is split between America and Europe. Would be a shame to see you go through a bunch of effort only to learn later that channel is beamed at Europe and not the US.
